Owning/Buying Land Vs Renting

We all know that renting is temporal or at least it should be a short-term option and not your long term goal. In Austin Alone, renters could expect to spend an average of $96,000 over the course of 4 years. The Average rent is $1700.00 per month. While rental properties may offer income to landlords, or, some sense of security for the time being. And at times, you can’t help it due to credit or financial reasons. Which is understandable. Landlords sounds so ‘mobster-like’, by the way.

These particular tips are meant to open your eyes and help you become more aware of the energy you are exhausting over the years when you can actually own land and a home of your own.

  1. The spiritual reason for owning land as opposed to renting is that you know the land is yours and you are able to connect more with the earth. And you are often not held back by exhausting rules. That is unless you live in an area or location where restrictions are high or there are HOA rules.

    When you are in an apartment, you get what is available, not what you want, perse. We are meant to rest on land. To connect with the ground. A home connected more on soil is grounded and will often help those who dwell there to have more control over their energy. (Feng-Shui Tip)

    You can also cancel out your chances for gardening outdoors when you are renting. You usually have to conform to the way the landlord does things and not what you prefer. Since you’re only a visitor, the Landlord trumps our living options and often freedoms when we rent.

    Although, a deluxe apartment in the sky, doesn’t sound too bad. You may want to consider this as a getaway spot and not your permanent/primary place of residence. Perhaps with YOU owning and not renting it. Also, Keep in mind, when in an apartment, you also share in the energy of the other residents. Not just your own. That’s something to spiritually think about.

  2. The key with owning your land or home as opposed to renting is that you are also not only investing into something for the moment. But possibly for a lifetime. When you rent, the money is gone. You are paying for the experience only. The pros of renting is that you get to socialize with other people in the apartment. But again, the space is still, not yours. You can easily use $96K towards your home ownership goals instead.

  3. You get to pass on the land and hopefully, the home, that you now own. You cannot however pass on your rental. Rentals are short-term and there are so many buyers that look back and wonder, “why haven’t I bought sooner”. Nowadays, there’s down payment assistance. And please don’t be ashamed to accept help. We all have had help at some point. The percentage rates are also very low at this time and will Jump in the near future.

  4. Buyers of real estate are represented for FREE in the state of Texas. there’s no fee to you buying and working with a REALTOR. You are responsible for your closing and other costs that are negotiated with the seller. You do however, have to sign a buyers representation agreement. As, in the State of TX, all buyer agents represent the seller by default and would owe no fiduciary duty to you if you are not represented by them.
